Past Experience

{"skills":"My background includes strategic planning, environmental stewardship, and community engagement, with a strong focus on stormwater management, sustainable growth, and smart budgeting. I’ve worked directly with land use and zoning issues, helped improve stormwater systems, and know how to navigate regulations and collaborate across agencies to get results. Above all, I believe in transparency, accountability, and keeping residents involved in the decisions that shape our town. From managing projects to building partnerships, I’ve spent my career turning challenges into solutions — and that’s exactly what I’ll continue to do for Pittsboro.","achievements":"I’ve spent years doing the kind of work that builds strong communities and delivers real results. As President of the Chatham Forest HOA, I helped turn years of neglect into progress — leading a full stormwater renovation, restoring our infrastructure, and earning our neighborhood the Best Neighborhood in Chatham County award. During COVID, I found creative ways to keep people connected with porch concerts, food trucks, and neighborhood events that reminded us what community really means. I’ve shown up for every Town and Planning Board meeting, dug into the details, and worked with residents and local leaders to find balanced, practical solutions that protect what makes Pittsboro special. I believe in planning wisely, managing responsibly, and leading with heart — because that’s how we keep Pittsboro authentic, connected, and thriving.","responsibility":"HOA President, Residential & Commercial Construction management, "}

My Top Issues

Increasing affordable housing options

Everyone who works in Pittsboro should be able to live in Pittsboro. Teachers, police officers, restaurant staff, healthcare workers — the people who make this town run shouldn’t be priced out of it. I support balanced, mixed-income development that includes affordable and workforce housing in every project — not just set-asides that look good on paper. Pittsboro can grow responsibly by requiring multiple small-area plans, encouraging infill and renovation instead of unchecked sprawl, and partnering with nonprofits and builders who specialize in quality, attainable homes. We need creative solutions — like incentives for accessory dwelling units (ADUs), revitalizing older housing stock, and zoning that supports smaller, energy-efficient homes — while still protecting the character of our neighborhoods. Growth is inevitable, but displacement doesn’t have to be. My goal is a Pittsboro where people of all ages, incomes, and backgrounds can afford to call this place home.

Balance development with neighborhood preservation

Pittsboro is growing — that’s a fact. But growth doesn’t have to mean losing what makes us special. I believe we can welcome new neighbors and protect the charm, history, and environment that define this town. That means smart, well-planned development that prioritizes infrastructure, stormwater, and traffic solutions before construction begins. It means protecting our tree cover, creeks, and open spaces, and holding developers accountable to the same standards we expect of homeowners. We can plan for progress without paving over our identity. Growth should serve the people who live here — not the other way around.

Addressing aging infrastructure in residential areas

Pittsboro’s aging infrastructure can’t handle unchecked development. We need to prioritize drainage, maintenance, and green infrastructure in every project — not as an afterthought, but as part of the plan from the start. Smart stormwater management isn’t just about pipes and culverts; it’s about protecting homes, waterways, and the people who live here.
