My Top Issues
Invest in crime prevention
We increased police salaries to recruit great officers and they decreased violent crime by over 30%
Increasing affordable housing options
We've attracted new affordable housing projects and market-rate housing starts have increased.
Supporting entrepreneurship and small businesses
Hartsville's character is defined by it's small businesses and we've seen a big increase in our local economy because of them.
Who I'm Running Against
Dan Askins (Republican Party)
My opponent is not a bad person and is a family friend. Dan's job is owning and managing rental properties.
He was motivated to run against me by one of my enemies and doesn’t seem to understand he’s being manipulated.
Becuase my city is actually doing remarkably well, there’s not many ways for him to criticise me, plus he knows that people would be turned off if he attacks me or is disrespectful, because everyone knows we were suposedly family friends.
Anyway, his talking points are all false facts. He’s hung up on the last census shoing we lost population but we did not. We know the census is wrong and have our own data that shows gradual growth.
He’s also harping on crime, saying we are one of the highest crimes cities in the country. Thers’s a lot of bad data on hte itnernet but it’s not reliable. The real numbers show that we’ve made a huge dent in crime by increasing enforcement and leaning into community policing.
Finally, he's lying about one of our really cool recreation facilities losing money each year. False. I think he just can’t read the budget or something. I’m not sure where he’s getting that.
